WEEK 9

During class time I had a minor set back with content for "My Vision" page. For some reason when I made a change it would delete everything and save random sentences. It took me away from editing photos for my projects page but thankfully I got it figured out. I also was able to proof and publish my final content for all pages. That's out of the way

WEEK 10
This week I was able to add a resume page and publish it to my site. Something I was debating on whether or not to add but I think it would be beneficial upon graduation.  Today I will be focusing on my final page for my website. "Selected Works". This page I'm focusing on editing photos and videos that I will be posting. I want them to look professional and tasteful. So this will require my full attention until next weeks class!

Pages and Deadlines

I do have word content for all pages saved in a word document right now. I haven't published them because I'd like to take a bit more time to finalize ideas and word choice to make sure I communicate the overall all message clearly. I have posted some content on some pages but it is just temporary.(I missed last weeks class so my deadline dates for my pages are a little behind)

"My Work"
Completed by 05.30.2016 published by the end of Week 9 - 06.1.2016
This page will include galleries ( Titled: Construction, Draping, Illustration) of work I will be including. As well as descriptions of each explaining the photos/projects; skills, applied techniques, research, etc. So far I know of three projects but most likely will have more work to include from class the term. I have some photos and a video published already by its only the beginning. I do need to do some editing and figure out how to arrange the images and videos.

This page will also include an "Inspiration" section that will explain my process and where I look or go to for inspiration to accomplish my work. And If there is time by week 11 I will include a plain gallery where my pieces are actually worn and presented in a creative way.

"Home"
I'm still working on it and look to have it completed and published by the end of class today Week 8- 05.25.2016.

This page obviously will be the greeting to my portfolio. I have been trying to figure out what is appropriate for my site.  I'm having some trouble with making decisions on design choices and the presentation. Hopefully I will be able to make the final decisions today. After I do so the other pages will flow easily.

"About"
Completed by Week 8 - 05.25.2016 published before 05.31.2016
This will include my biography as a brief introduction to who I am and where I'm heading. I also think its appropriate to include credentials (i.e. degrees) to show background of education. I will go a little more into detail about the career I wish to pursue.
Looking to finish or get close to finishing this page by the end of class as well.

"Mission"
Completed and published by Week 9 - 05.31.2016
I wanted to include this page because it's content will state what my overall mission is career wise. I want to establish my end goal in fashion design. Although this is a portfolio site, I do eventually want to own and run a business so this page is to clarify what I want that business to stand for and accomplish.

A WORK IN PROGRESS

I have a developed a very basic sitemap for my site. I'm still working on pin pointing what content I want to include. I don't have much to display right now but I am working on digging up projects and work from the past. This sitemap is my starting point and with no doubt will probably undergo many changes!

I apologize for the late post on the domain name but the site is up and running but doesn't contain much content at this moment.

BEGINNINGS OF WEBSITE: STYLE GUIDE

I knew right away that I wanted my website to be raw with an organic feeling because it is showcasing my work from the beginning stages (raw material) to the final product.

Who I am and Where I'm Headed

Kandise V. Segura
25 years young

I'm an entrepreneur in the fashion industry. My main ambition in life right now is to some day become a business owner. the first stop is education. In 2011 I received my A.A.A. in Fashion Marketing and Business Management at the Art Institute of Seattle. I'm back for round two and working on my B.A. in Fashion Design. To get the best of both worlds.

Of course a goal is to be successful but in my case while building a brand and business from the ground up, I would like to be successful in making a difference in this world. Locally, and worldwide some day, focusing on our youth. Maybe provide for those who don't have the luxury of a reliable food source, shelter or even a pillow for that matter. Maybe to local students and schools who are less fortunate and to those teachers who have to pay out of pocket for supplies or even for the students who don't have money for school lunch everyday. In some way shape or form my goal is to make an impact on our future investments, our youth. My main inspiration comes from my nephew, who is 3 years old going on four in July, and thinking about his future. Who he will choose to be and how lucky he is to have that privilege.

I come from a family who has worked hard to get to where we are. For starters my father. He started from nothing and made it into something for his wife and two children. I want to promote this lifestyle through fashion and encourage those who have given up on opportunities. To remind them that there is always HOPE. Teams succeed because the players build each other up and by doing their part. The same can go for this world and our individual communities. We all start from somewhere but together we can go anywhere.
